Bio: Evan Englander became a Coug in August 2014. Evan earned his Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications and Communication Studies from SUNY (State University of New York) Oneonta and his Master of Arts in Higher and Postsecondary Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. As an undergraduate, Evan was extremely involved on his campus. He held several leadership roles within the NY Kappa Chapter of Phi Kappa Psi and was elected Student Association President his senior year. In his role as SA President, Evan sat on several campus wide committees including the Standing Disciplinary Board and the Budget Advisory Committee. Since graduation, Evan has held several positions in student affairs, including Coordinator of Leadership Programs at SUNY Oneonta and Graduate Assistant for LGBTQA Initiatives at Barnard College. His research interests combine all of these fields, as he hopes to study LGBTQA people in fraternities and the leadership opportunities they experience. A native New Yorker, Evan loves watching the Mets, Jets and Islanders (though it can be painful at times). He is a movie buff, a huge Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel fan, and is a former radio personality by profession. Evan is also a facilitator for NovakTalks, a consulting and advocacy company for Campus Safety, Hazing Prevention, Student Risk Management and Student Organization Development. Evan works primarily with our residential fraternities and the Interfraternity Council and is super excited to create positive change. GO COUGS! GO GREEK!
