Go Cougs! Go Greek!

Fraternity men and sorority women at WSU strive to be responsible leaders in our community who desire excellence in all areas. Students in the community are held to higher standards than other groups on college campuses, and individual behavior can reflect a positive or negative image of the fraternity/sorority community, regardless of the chapter. If you are serious about becoming Greek at WSU, consider what we have to offer!

The cornerstone of fraternity and sorority life is the development of lifelong friendships.  Fraternities and sororities provide members with a home away from home and the support system inherent in a chapter is a factor in the retention and success of students.

Academic excellence is one of the fundamental principles of fraternity and sorority life. Students in the Greek community take pride in their scholastic efforts , which are supported and developed through numerous programs and services offered by the organizations.  Chapters elect officers who focus primarily on academic success and accountability.

Being a part of the fraternity & sorority community at WSU is an extraordinary experience when it comes to giving back to the community. The students engage in more community service hours per academic year than any other organization on campus, and as individual chapters, the men and women sponsor events to raise money for charitable organizations.  Each spring, the entire community comes together to provide service through our competitive Greek Week.

Even the newest members in each chapter have the opportunity to take on responsibilities that teach valuable skills and provide growth as leaders. Each chapter is responsible for its own governance, electing officers who are supported by the governing bodies of the community. Chapter officers learn to supervise committees, manage a budget, plan and organize philanthropic events, chapter retreats and social functions, work with alumni and community members, and learn to speak in a business meeting.
